The Latin name for the Eurasian hobby (more commonly known simply as the hobby) is Falco subbuteo. The word 'subbuteo' indicates that the bird is similar to ('sub') the buzzard (Buteo buteo).
Peter Adolph's game is (of course) a form of table football (soccer). There are also versions that are supposed to replicate cricket, rugby (both codes) and hockey.
